We are a fast growing agency and are always on the lookout for “bright stars” that we can nurture and help to progress and become successful. Even if we don’t have a job vacancy, we are always happy to hear from people who believe that they have what it takes to become an INGER.
Many people who approach us and are rejected ask for feedback. We thought it might be easier if we tell you up front what we define as a star.
1. What have you done that proves you want to be in PR? Is it a real career goal or are you just going for jobs in this industry because it sounds easy?
2. What do you read, watch and listen do? If you are passionate about PR and communications then you must be able to show that you hoover up information and have a basic understanding of how PR is used to affect a news agenda.
3. Can you write? Show us. Anything that you have prepared will give a guide to what your skills are.
4. Common sense – addressing your correspondence correctly, making sure there are no spelling errors or typos. All of these small things are important because it demonstrates that you have pride in your work and therefore will have pride in the work you do for clients.
5. Research – show us how your mind works. What makes ING and our clients so interesting that you want to spend every working day devoted to the cause?
